Machil-Kupwara road reopens, Gurez still cut off

Srinagar, Dec 1 (UNI) The road, connecting border town of Machil and dozens of other far flung and remote villages, including those near the Line of Control (LoC), reopened for traffic.
However, strategically important road leading to border town of Gurez, and other villages near LoC remained closed due to heavy snowfall. Snow clearance operation was in progress from both sides of the Razdan pass to restore traffic on the road.
The snow clearance operation Machil-Kupwara road has been completed and traffic was allowed, an official of Police Control Room (PCR) told UNI over phone from Kupwara on Sunday.
