M-777 Ultra Light Howitzers, K-9 Vajra inducted in Indian Army

Nashik, Nov 9 (UNI) The Centre is striving to be self-reliant in Defence production, through the Make in India programme, with an aim to speed up the process of modernisation of the Indian Army, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Friday.
Speaking at a programme held for induction of field artillery guns -- the M-777 A2 Ultra Light Howitzers, K-9 Vajra (self-propelled tracked guns and 6x6 field artiliery tractor -- at Devlali Field Range near here, she said that this is the first time that two modern guns have been inducted in the Army.
These three will help in creation of capable artillery team for Nav Bharat, she said.
