Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Feb 3 2016 7:17PM Lure of contest forces 40-yr-old man to commit suicide in Kolhapur districtKolhapur, Feb 3 (UNI) A 40-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan of his house at Pimpalgaon Khurd village in Kagal tehsil of the district after having realised that he was cheated of Rs 13.50 lakh. The deceased, Mahesh Ramchandra Suryavanshi, fell prey to an advertisement about a competition that appeared on a TV channel. The contest was about identifying a person and winning a cash prize. Accordingly, Suryavanshi took part in the 'Identify the Person and Win Rs 30 Lakh Prize' contest. Later an unidentified person phoned and told him that he has won the contest and also won the cash prize of Rs 30 lakh.
