Lt Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane takes over Gen officer Commanding-in-chief of ARTRAC

Shimla, Dec 1 (UNI) Lt Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM, took over as the 20th
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) on Friday.
The General was commissioned into 7th Battalion Sikh Light Infantry in June 1980. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Pune and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he has, in his illustrious career, held critical command and staff appointments in peace, field and active Counter Insurgency environment both in the North East and in Jammu & Kashmir.
The General Officer has commanded a Rashtriya Rifle Battalion in Jammu & Kashmir, an Infantry Brigade, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) in the North East and a prestigious Strike Corps of the Indian Army. The General Officer has served as an instructor at the Army War College and was the Indian Defence Attache to Myanmar.
The General Officer also holds a Masters degree in Defence Studies from Chennai University and has acquired M Phil in Defence and Management Studies from DAVV, Indore.
The Army Commander is married to Mrs Veena Naravane who has vast experience of more than 25 years in field of teaching in India and abroad. She has been closely associated with welfare activities and has now assumed the responsibility of the Regional President, Army Wives Welfare Association of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC).
The credo and the guiding spirit behind the Army Training Command is, ‘Excellence in the Art and Science of War’, and with his vast experience and professional knowledge, Lt Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM will undoubtedly steer ARTRAC to greater achievements, professional excellenceand play a significant role in preparing the Indian Army to win future wars across the entire spectrum of conflict.
