New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Indian Army’s South Western Command chief Lieutenant General Alok Singh Kler on Wednesday took stock of operational as well as training and administrative aspects of the formation at Mathura Army Garrison.
On his 2-day visit to Mathura, he was accompanied by Regional President Army Wives Welfare Association of South Western Command Anu Kler.
1 Corps General Officer Commanding Lieutenant General Amardeep Singh Bhinder briefed the Army Commander on the operational as well as training and administrative aspects, Rajasthan-based defence PRO Col Sombit Ghosh said.
The Army Commander commended Strike 1 for its operational readiness and expressed deep appreciation of the measures undertaken to enhance its operational preparedness.
He also appreciated the effort undertaken by the formation to improve the quality of life of the soldiers as well as their families.
Ms Kler was welcomed by Ravneet Bhinder, Zonal President AWWA, Strike 1 who informed her about various welfare measures implemented in Mathura Garrison for soldiers and their families.
She was also informed about all the actions done for betterment of Veer Naris (whose husbands laid down their lives in service of the Nation) in accordance with the theme of year 2019 being ‘Year of Next of Kin (NoK)’.
Mrs Kler also interacted with all the families in the Mathura Garrison and enquired about their well being.
She also witnessed an educative skit on the various benefits available to a NoK by the government and the Indian Army.
She also felicitated the ladies who have excelled in different fields of work pertaining to the welfare of soldiers’ families.
Later, Ms Kler visited Army Pre Primary School and complimented the school administration for delivering quality education and facilities for all round development of children.
