LS polls: Campaigning picks up in Ambala

Ambala, Apr 26 (UNI) Candidates from different political parties seeking election in the Ambala Lok Sabha seat have been leveling allegations and counter allegations on each other during campaigning at the public meetings, press conferences and corner meetings being held in urban as well as rural areas in the constituency comprising nine assembly constituencies.
As the campaigning picks up, the candidates have also sharpened criticism against one another. The main contestants in this parliamentary constituency are traditional adversaries Kumari Selja from Cogress, Rattan Lal Kataria from BJP and former Himachal Pradesh DGP Prithvi Raj Singh of AAP-JJP alliance.
Whereas both Selja and Kataria are old foes and have been contesting election against each other since 2004. Both remained Lok Sabha MPs alternatively when Kumari Selja fought her first election in 2004 and won. She again was elected in 2009 election but left the arena after she was nominated to Rajya Sabha prior to the 2014 elections when Kataria was elected with thumping majority. Both are accusing one another for not working for development of the constituency.
