Entertainment » OtherPosted at: May 17 2016 1:34PM Low pressure intensifies, Chennai battered by rainChennai, May 17 (UNI) Heavy rains battered this teeming megapolis and its suburbs, as the well marked low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a depression today and lay centred about 240 km from the city. The city has been receiving copious rains since last night, with a very brief respite in the morning. Meterological office sources said the Chennai city recorded 67 mm of rainfall till 0830 hrs this morning, making it the second highest for a single day in the month of May.
