Low pressure area over S Andaman Sea to intensify into depression on Nov 30

Amaravati, Nov 28 (UNI) On Monday’s Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait moved westwards and lay over the South Andaman Sea at 0830 hours on Tuesday, the Meteorological Centre said.
In a daily weather report here, it is said that the low pressure area is likely to move west-northwestward and intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 30.
Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestward and intensify further into a cyclonic storm over the southeast Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 48 hours.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the next 24 hours.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 29 and 30.
Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at one or two places, at a few places, or at many places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema during the next seven days.
Rainfall occurred at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places over Rayalaseema, and dry weather prevailed over Yanam during the last 24 hours.
Northeast monsoon has been normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema.
The lowest minimum temperature of 19.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kalingapatnam in coastal Andhra Pradesh on the intervening nights of Monday and Tuesday, the report added.
