New Delhi, Nov 22 (UNI) The Indian Meteorological Department on Sunday said that a well marked low pressure area over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal persists over the region, is very likely to concentrate into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and intensify further into a cyclonic storm during subsequent 24 hours.
It is very likely to move northwest wards and cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram around noon or afternoon on November 25.
Under the influence of above system, rainfall activity is likely to increase over extreme south Peninsula from November 23 onwards with fairly widespread to widespread activity over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during November 24 to 26, over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalseema and Telangana on November 25 and 26.
