Love Jihad: 'Hindu Seva Kendras' to be opened in 1,200 places in Kerala

Kochi, Jan 27 (UNI) In the wake of increasing number of 'Love Jihad' targetting Hindu and Christian girls in Kerala, 'Hindu Seva Kendras' will be opened in 1,200 places including in all the Grama Panchayats to create awareness among the affected sections on the threat of extremism in the State.
Talking to newspersons here on Monday, Hindu Seva Kendra president Pratheesh Viswanath said Seva Kendras will be opened in 941 Grama Panchayats, 152 Block Panchayats, 14 District Panchayats, 87 Municipalities and 6 City Corporations.
Stating that 'Love Jihad' is a matter of concern, he said this kind of extremism is causing danger to the secular harmony and societal peace in Kerala.
Claiming that Hindus and Christian girls are being targeted by extremist groups and recruited for terrorist activities in Syria, he said a 'Help Line' number has been introduced to contact people for providing help against 'forced conversion' and giving medical aid, education and free food especially for economically backward sections.
Pratheesh Viswanath said "Love Jihad and forcible conversion are a reality in Kerala. Hindu girls are being converted not for faith but fake love. They are being used as 'sex slaves' in war-torn nations by the ISIS groups, and turning a blind eye to it amounts to giving a silent support for it."
A few days ago, the forum of Catholic bishops in Kerala alleged that scores of Christian girls are being lured by the IS through 'Love Jihad' and accused the Kerala Police of not taking any action against it.
The Synod of Syro-Malabar Church headed by Cardinal George Alencherry said 21 people from Kerala recruited to ISIS a few years ago, almost half were converted from the Christian community.
