LoP alleges worsening drug menace, HRTC neglect in Himachal under Congress govt

Shimla, July 17 (UNI) Leader of Opposition and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Friday accused the Congress government in Himachal of failing to curb the growing drug menace in the state, alleging that narcotics were being sold even inside prisons and that the government's anti-drug campaign was merely a publicity exercise.
He said here on Friday that the drug situation in Himachal Pradesh had become alarming, with cases of overdose deaths being reported frequently.
Referring to a recent overdose death in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial area, he alleged that such incidents had become routine while the government had failed to dismantle drug trafficking networks.
