Longest surviving Mizoram CM Lal Thanhawla humbled in both constituencies

New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) The ultimate power in democracy remains with the electorate and this was reflected well in the mandate in Mizoram polls when five time Chief Minister and Congress stalwart Lal Thanhawla lost both the assembly seats he contested.

Ironically, the set back to the Congress in Mizoram came on a day when the grand old party, which has been experiencing a series of electoral defeats since 2014, made a strong come back in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
