Lok Sabha: All eyes on final tally of No Trust vote

New Delhi, July 23 (UNI) All eyes will be on Lok Sabha proceedings on Monday as the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is likely to declare final tally of the voting on the No Confidence Motion that was rejected in the House by a massive difference.
On Friday late evening after a marathon 12-hour-long debate, the Lok Sabha rejected the first
No Confidence Motion against Modi government moved by the TDP and backed by Congress and
several other opposition parties by a margin of 325 against 126.
With the abstention of Shiv Sena, NDA's tally was expected to be around 300 only but the tally as shown in the electronic voting of 325 suggests there have been additional votes in favour of the Modi government.
BJP sources said the extra votes could be from AIADMK members. A senior AIADMK later said they decided to vote in favour of the BJP-led NDA as the 2014 mandate was clearly in favour of the alliance and that verdict should be respected.
In the House also, later it was found several MPs requested for ballot papers to cast their votes or to amend them after the electronic voting was over. Some MPs also failed to register their votes in the electronic system, but sources said this "is usual" and therefore there are provisions of paper voting in Parliament.
BJP spokesman Sambit Patra on Sunday mocked at the Congress saying had it been EVM system, the main opposition party would have blamed it on EVMs as the opposition tally dropped from expected 146 to 126.
At the end of the No Trust voting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "NDA has the confidence of the Lok Sabha and the 125 crore people of India. I thank all the parties that have supported us in the vote today".
"Our efforts to transform India and fulfil the dreams of our youth continue. Jai Hind," he further wrote.
