Lok Sabha adjourned sine die, productivity of House 167 per cent

New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on Wednesday ahead of schedule following concern expressed by members over rising number of Covid cases.
The Monsoon session, scheduled to go on till October 1, was cut short in the wake of pandemic.
The session was concluded eight sittings ahead of the 18 planned sittings.
Speaker Om Birla said the productivity of the Lower House during this session has been 167 per cent.
He said many rearrangements were made which were done for the first time in history. Sittings were held on on the weekends also, he said.
The business conducted during the session was 68 per cent legislative and 32 per cent non-legislative.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the House.
