Local people threatened to oppose the steel plant

Kendrapada , May 29 (UNI) The Bengali speaking people of Ramnagar, Kharanashi and Batighar gram panchayat under Mahakalapada block threatened to oppose the proposed 12 MTPA mega integrated steel plant to be setup by Arcelor Mittal Nippon steel India in their locality if the district administration did not provide them Record of Rights over their land.
They said though they have been residing in the area for more than five decades but still the land records has not been made in their names .
During 1971-1978, several Bengali speaking people and Bangladeshi refugees stayed in 17 villages under three Revenue circles of Mahakalapada tehsil by encroaching the forest and revenue lands, after obtaining K-form (interim order receipt ) from the local administration .
