Local peasants knocked CM for providing another gate in wire fenced international border

Ambassa (Tripura), Mar 24 (UNI) For comfortable use of cultivable lands outside the fencing and for the protection of crops, local farmers in the bordering subdivision of Kamalpur placed a demand note to the Tripura Chief Minister for providing another gate in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here today.
Chandannagar area remained to be a controversial patch of land between India and Bangladesh which India got after the initiative of the BJP led Union government. And recently the fencing work of that part started between the border pillars 1404 and 1405.
One local farmer identified as Manoj Kumar informed, "In total 200 acres of cultivable lands remain outside the border. And only two gates are provided at a distance of 2 kms for us. As a result, we find it difficult to cultivate there, carry our tools and machines, protect and take the crops to house".
