Local court issues warrant against Madhu Kishwar in defamation case

Srinagar, Dec 3 (UNI) A local court in Srinagar today issued a warrant against the social activist Madhu Kishwar in a complaint by senior journalist and Editor-in-Chief of an English daily “Rising Kashmir” Shujaat Bukhari for her defamatory statements posted by her on Twitter.
Mr Bukhari said that he has filed a complaint seeking criminal proceedings under Sections 499 and 500 for defaming him through her Tweets earlier in July 2016 and again yesterday. She had labelled unfounded and malicious allegations against me and my newspaper Rising Kashmir.
Kishwar in her tweets had alleged that his newspaper has received “funding from agencies” and was playing the “ISI script” and spitting venom against India.
