New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) S S Palanimanickam, DMK member from Thanjavur, on Tuesday said that farmers should be encouraged to take up group farming, dairying and poultry to increase their incomes.
Taking part in a discussion on Demands for Grants for the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Lok Sabha, the DMK member suggested the three-pronged strategy – dairying activities, poultry and group farming -- for the farmers apart from agriculture which would raise their income levels.
He felt that loan waiver from time to time was not an answer to ease the difficult financial situation of the farmers in different parts of the country.
