Loan waiver: MP CM delivers key Cong promise

Bhopal, Dec 17 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath – after being sworn in on Monday – first inked a file vis-a-vis waiver of agrarian loans not exceeding Rs 2 lakh each and thereby fulfilled a key promise made in the Congress Assembly election manifesto.
“This decision pertains to loans availed from nationalised and cooperative banks. When nationalised financial institutions can set aside debts of major industries then why should there be any difficulty in doing the same in the context of tillers,” he told the press at Mantralaya.
