Liquor worth Rs 26 lakh seized in Nashik

Nashik, Oct 14 (UNI) The divisional flying squad of the state excise department have seized illegal liquor worth Rs 26.71 lakh at Savmal village near Hatgad shivar in Surgana taluka of the district on Monday.
According to sources, the local police divisional squad received confidential information about liquor illegally stored in Hatgad shivar of Surganara taluka. Following the information, the divisional squad took action and seized the liquor under the guidance of Commissioner Prajakta Lavangare Verma and deputy commissioner Arjun Ohal.
The squad raided the primises of one under construction building at Savmal and seized liquor worth Rs 26.71 lakh. Police detained suspect Sunil Laxman Khambayat (21), resident of Hatgad, Surgana taluka). The liquor was produced in Punjab state and it was only allowed for sale in Arunachal Pradesh. Police seized total 573 boxes of liquor.
