Like-minded parties needed to bring economy back on track: Chidambaram

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) Former finance minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday said the Indian economy was in 'danger' due to the 'wrong' policies of the NDA-led BJP government in Centre and opined that to bring economy back on track Congress had joined hands with political parties who are liberal, equal and secular.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, state Congress party headquarters here, Mr Chidambaram said Indian economy was really in 'danger' as household savings, investments and exports were completely 'down'.
Demonetisation and a flawed GST have derailed economic growth, he said and alleged, "economy was limping along at a growth rate of less than five per cent that has been dressed up as seven per cent, thanks to meddling with the methodology of calculating the growth rate."
