Life returns to normal in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 18 (UNI) Life returned to normal on Tuesday in the Kashmir valley, where separatists had called for general strike yesterday against the killing of five militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) in an encounter by security forces in Kulgam last week.
A civilian was also killed and several others injured when security forces opened fire and burst teargas shells to disperse demonstrators trying to disrupt the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at village Chowgam Kulgam.
Shops and business establishments reopened and traffic was plying on all roads normally. Work in government offices and banks was normal while educational institutions were also functioning in the valley, where train service also resumed.
