Life imprisonment for kidnapping and rape of minor in Jharkhand's Dumka

Dumka (Jharkhand), Nov 10, (UNI) A special court in Dumka has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for kidnapping and raping a minor girl. The court of first additional district and sessions judge (POCSO) SN Mishra delivered the verdict.
The prosecution alleged that the incident occurred on May 31, 2021, when the victim, a minor girl, went out to relieve herself in a village under Jarma police station. The accused, Dilip Rai, kidnapped her and took her to a secluded area where he raped her.
The victim’s family members searched for her and later found the accused with the victim in a compromising position. He managed to escape.
