Leading tile maker H and R Johnson that owns 7 of its 15 Indian plants in Gujarat rules out any new acquisitions

Ahmedabad, Feb 14 (UNI) Leading tile making company H and R Johnson (India), a part of over a century old London based Johnson group, which has seven of its total 15 manufacturing plants in India in ceramics hub of Morbi in Gujarat on Thursday ruled out the possibility of acquisition of any new plant.
CEO Designate of the parent company Prism Johnson Limited Sarat Chandak told newsmen here on the occasion of the launch of its 'House of Johnson Display center'.

He said that the company was producing enough of various kind of tiles in its facilities as per requirement and was also geographically well positioned.

'Seven of our plants are in the western state of Gujarat. We also have plant in Mumbai. In the central part of India in MP and also in Tamilnadu and Vizag. We don't feel any need of new acquisition. We will continue to do the modernization of our existing plant,' he said.

He said that the company was producing unique germ free and water saver products for kitchens and bathrooms also.

To a query he said that the annual production capacity of the company in India was 80 million square meter. 'Almost half of our revenue comes from the products made in Gujarat facilities.

Established in England in 1901, Johnson started making tiles in India since 1958. H & R Johnson (India) has 15 manufacturing plants across India, 4 leading product brands which offer 25 different product categories and over 3000 products options in tiles along with premium offerings in sanitary ware, bathrooms fittings, engineered marble and quartz.
