LDF wins majority seats in local body elections in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 15 (UNI) The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) has won 15 seats in the local body bye-elections held in 30 seats in Kerala on Friday.
The main Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) won 12 seats, RMP one seat and Independents two seats, State Election Commissioner V Bhaskaran said in a press release here.
The victory of LDF comes at a time when Opposition UDF and BJP are staging protest against the Left Government for their alleged stand against customs in Sabarimala.
