LDF govt should own responsibility for 2018 floods in Kerala: Sitharaman

LDF govt should own responsibility for 2018 floods in Kerala: Sitharaman

Wayanad, Apr 21 (UNI) Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday said the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala should shoulder the whole responsiblity for the floods in the state in August last year.

Speaking at a public meeting held as part of the election campaign for the NDA candidate here, Ms Seetharaman said it was the sheer mismanagement by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his Government that the State had witnessed the flood havoc and related human sufferings, leave alone the losses.

Hailing the message and spirit conveyed by the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS), an ally of the NDA in Kerala, Ms Seetharaman said the "Sena" is the protector of "Dharma" ,and Thushar Vellapalli, President of BDJS is the candidate in Wayanad constituency. And that "dharma" is being protected by the "Sena", who are paraded here in support of the NDA candidate, she said

Referring to the prominence of the party that is represented by Mr Thushar, the Union Minister said the name of BDJS is important since the name denotes the people of India (Jana Sena of Bharath). The "Sena" of Bharath Dharma is to uphold the "dharma" of the people and India, she added.

The hipocracy of the Congress and Communists has been exposed by the double standards of the two parties in Kerala and elsewhere.

Accusing AICC President Rahul Gandhi of tying up with the Muslim League, which according to his great grand father Jawaharlal Nehru was a dead horse.

Mr Gandhi had miserably failed to make any impact in Amethi, Ms Sitharaman said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had commissioned a weapon manufacturing unit there.
