Laos prepares to host 57th ASEAN foreign ministers' meeting

Vientiane, May 30 (UNI) Laos is making comprehensive preparations to host the 57th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) and related meetings here from July 21 to 27 in 2024.
A preparatory meeting of the AMM and related meetings on Tuesday was held and chaired by Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith, according to a Lao News Agency report on Thursday.
At the meeting, participants discussed progress made in preparing for the regional meeting concerning the content, venues, and accommodation for ministers and their delegations from more than 30 countries.

Lavrov lauds ties with DPRK as show of ‘invincible brotherhood’

Moscow/Pyongyang, July 12 (UNI) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's recent arrival in North Korea marked a significant step in the burgeoning strategic dialogue between Moscow and Pyongyang, with Lavrov lauding the political relationship between Russia and the DPRK as an "invincible brotherhood."


This bond, he emphasised, has been demonstrably strengthened by the participation of North Korean soldiers fighting alongside Russian forces in the "liberation" of the Kursk region, an unprecedented level of military cooperation that underscores the deepening ties, reports Russian state media TASS.

BNP leader voices concern over 35 pc US tariff, says it could destroy key export sector
