Lady IPS officer booked for assaulting a pregnant woman

Bhubaneswar, Aug 18 (UNI) A case has been registered against Sundargarh Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra on the direction of SDJM, Sundargarh for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman during a raid on July 4 last.
The Hemgiri police have registered the case against the SP yesterday under section 427, 341, 506, 45, 323, 294, 342, 313, 166, 167, 503 and 504 of IPC based on a complaint filed by a lady of the village.
In her complaint, the lady alleged that Sundargarh SP Saumya Mishra, accompanied with DSP, SDPO and police force reached the Kanika village, went on a rampage and threatened the family members in connection with an attack on police beat house by a mob.
