Ladakh's Dard community praised for their concern for environment

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Sudarshan Bhagat on Friday praised the Dard community of Ladakh for their concern for environment saying it is "a lesson for us."
Speaking at the seminar on 'Dard Aryans of Ladakh,' hosted by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts here, Bhagat said the cultural fabric of the country is intertwined with the colours of different ethnic groups and it is proud of its ancient traditions and inclusive culture.
In this context, he said, "Dard community is one unique community who have retained their age-old cultural traditions. Their concerns for safeguarding environment and ecology are a lesson for us."
