New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) Karur Vysya Bank contributed a sum of Rs five crore to the Army Welfare CSR Fund.
As part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, the amount was handed over to the Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, by Bank Managing Director and CEO P R Seshadri here recently.
Mr Seshadri conveyed to the Army Chief that the contribution was a token of the genuine appreciation of the Bank for the outstanding contribution of the Army towards keeping country's borders safe and ensuring that people lead a safe, peaceful and fulfilling life.
Gen Rawat thanked the Bank for its gesture and said that the amount would go a long way in supporting the on-going projects initiated by the Indian Army for the welfare of ex-servicemen, war widows and their wards and dependents.
Karur Vysya Bank has been supporting several initiatives as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities in the areas of education, sanitation & healthcare, promotion of art and culture, according to a statement on Sunday.
