Kullu Admin bans camp site & adventurous activities along rivers

Shimla, July 6 (UNI) Kullu District Administration barred all type of water sports or adventure activity including rafting, Kayaking, zip lines across water bodies and setting up camp sites along water bodies.
Prashant Sirkek, District Magistrate, Kullu exercising of the powers vested under Section 30 and 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 decided to ban adventures activities in view of the ongoing heavy rains, incidents of landslides, flash flood or cloud burst are likely to occur in the district, which may lead to any kind of mishap or disaster. Notification said that precautionary measure and in order to save precious lives and loss to property. He said that camp sites adjoining river banks or nallahs and in landslide prone areas are hereby directed to be removed or made non - operational till further order.
All type of water sports or adventure activity including rafting , kayaking , zip lines across water bodies , etc. are banned till further order. It will be the responsibilities of DTDO Kullu, all the Executive Magistrates, and Police Authority to ensure the above with their areas of responsibility. Any person who obstructs in the implementation of, or refuses to comply with the above directions shall on conviction be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or with fine, or with both, and if such obstruction or refusal to comply with direction results in loss of lives or imminent danger thereof, shall on conviction be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years. This order will come into effect immediately and shall remain in force till further order.
