Bengaluru, Nov 14 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court has scheduled a hearing for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's appeal on November 23.
Siddaramaiah challenges the Governor's sanction to prosecute him in connection with the MUDA land allotment controversy.
In September, Justice Nagaprasanna dismissed Siddaramaiah’s initial plea, upholding the Governor's decision to proceed with prosecution. Siddaramaiah, represented by Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, is now appealing to a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice NV Anjaria and Justice KV Aravind.
The MUDA case involves accusations of corruption linked to land de-notification and allotment to Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi. Activists TJ Abraham, Snehamai Krishna, and Pradeep Kumar SP allege that Parvathi received overvalued land as compensation under suspicious circumstances.
Siddaramaiah argues that he had no involvement in MUDA’s decisions, attributing the Governor's sanction to political motivations. The ongoing legal battle is seen as a critical test for the Chief Minister amid heightened scrutiny of his administration’s actions.
