KT Jaleel's remarks on J&K creates controversy

Malappuram, August 12 (UNI) The Facebook comments made by former Kerala Minister and CPI(M) MLA representing Thavanoor Assembly constituency KT Jaleel on Jammu and Kashmir created a controversy on Friday.
His comment on FB described Pakistan occupied Kashmir(PoK) as "Azad Kashmir', hence caused widespread protest against him.
Jaleel posted the comments during his visit to Kashmir.
He also made unsubstantiated claims that people of Kashmir are "furious" about the abrogation of Article 370. He also praised Pakistan-occupied territories for "truly being free".
He further claimed that the people of Kashmir have "forgotten how to laugh" following the deployment of military personnel with loaded weapons across the region.
Union Minister V Muraleedharn demanded that police should register a treason case against KT Jaleel, MLA, following his comments in social media.
Meanwhile, CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan claimed that he was not aware about the comments made by KT Jaleel.
