Krushi Bhagya scheme extended to Horticulture Dept

Bengaluru, Sep 4 (UNI) The Karnataka Cabinet today decided toextend its 'Krushi Bhagya' scheme to Horticulture Department andapproved to set aside Rs 200 Crore this year for implementation onthe lines of Agriculture Department. Under the scheme, 90 per cent subsidy will be provided to farmersbelonging to SC/ST who grow Fruits, vegetables under Poly Houses. 50per cent financial assistance will be given to farmers belonging toother community, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs T BJayachandra said. Briefing newsmen after the Cabinet meeting here, Mr Jayachandra said that the Krushi Bhagya Scheme will be implemented in 128 Taluks of25 districts in the State as announced in the Budget. He said that the Cabinet has approved extension of the scheme under whichagriculture machineries will be given on low rent for the benefit offarmers. Already the scheme is implemented in 500 hoblies and itwill be extended to remaining 250 hoblies in the State on PublicPrivate Participation Basis. Private firms with annual turnover ofabove Rs 10 lakh will be provided Rs 2.5 lakh subsidy and forthose below Rs 10 lakh turnover, in addition, tosubsidy assistance to purchase agriculture equipment.
