KRRS to hold nation wide strike on Oct 24 against Free Trade Agreement

Mysuru, Oct 19 (UNI) Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) members have decided to hold a nationwide agitation on October 24 to protest against the proposed Free Trade Agreement likely to be signed by the Union Government.
Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday KRRS General Secretary H Basavaraju said the union government plans to sign free trade agreement with 15 countries which will affect the 15 Crore milk producers across the country. Import of milk and its products from other countries will affect the farmers since it is cheap and it will have adverse impact on farmers economic condition and it is against their welfare.
Stating that tax free products for the other countries with free market will affect the Indian farmers as rates will come down, he urged the union government not to sign such an agreement which will have adverse impact on farmers.
