New Delhi, Jun 19 (UNI) Calling the BJP-NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind a farmer's son, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said he will make an exceptional President. "I am sure Shri Ram Nath Kovind will make an exceptional President & continue to be a strong voice for the poor, downtrodden & marginalised," Mr Modi tweeted minutes after BJP chief Amit Shah announced the Bihar Governor's name (Kovind) for the ensuing Presidential elections. In another tweet, the Prime Minister said, "With his illustrious background in the legal arena, Shri Kovind's knowledge and understanding of the Constitution will benefit the nation." Mr Modi said Mr Kovind, who comes from a humble background has devoted his life to public service and worked for poor and marginalised. The BJP chief today announced Mr Kovind's name for the country's highest Constitutional post after party's Parliamentary board meeting here. The nomination is likely to be filed on June 23. Incumbent President Pranab Mukherjee is completing his term on July 24, and a new President has to be elected before that. UNI DS AE 1641
