Seoul, Sep 27 (UNI) Saina Nehwal entered quarter-final on Thursday by defeating her South Korean rival Ga Eun Kim 21-18, 21-18 in a match that lasted for 37 minutes.
Despite a good start in the first game, 6-2, 10-2, 15-8 and 16-10, the Korean player scored six straight points and levelled the score 17-17. After three consecutive points, Saina finished the first game at 21-18 after making a lead of 20-17.
In the second game, the unseeded South Korean took a lead at the mid-game interval. However, Saina came from behind to close the game and win the match.
