Komatireddy Venkat Reddy boosts Telangana’s film & TV vision

Hyderabad, Nov 7 (UNI) The Telangana Government has approved three major initiatives to strengthen the State’s film and television industry under the leadership of Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
According to G.O.Rt.No.1540, the Government has given approval to the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TGFDC) to sponsor the Hyderabad International Short Film Festival, which will be held from December 19 to 21, in collaboration with the Dadasaheb Phalke School of Film Studies. A total budget of Rs 30 lakh has been sanctioned from the Corporation’s existing funds for the event.
In another move, the Government issued G.O.Rt.No.1541, constituting a committee to frame the modalities, regulations and logo design for the upcoming Telangana Television Awards 2024, comprising senior members from the media and entertainment industry.
Further, through G.O.Rt.No.1549, the State permitted the organisation of the Young Filmmakers Awards Function, with a reconstituted jury that includes noted film personalities such as Director Harish Shankar, Singer Rahul Sipligunj, Cinematographer P.G. Vinda, and Director Balagam Venu. The event will also be organised with a budget of ₹30 lakh from TGFDC’s funds.
Minister Komatireddy said these initiatives reflect the Government’s commitment to promoting creative excellence and offering meaningful platforms for emerging talent in Telangana’s vibrant film and television sectors.
