Kolkata Centre for Creativity in collaboration with Quilt India Foundation hosts “Threads that Bind”

Kolkata, Dec 6 (UNI) Kolkata Centre for Creativity in collaboration with Quilt India Foundation inaugurated ‘Threads that Bind’ - A Travel exhibit of 18 Award winning quilts from India Quilt Festival 2019 from December 6– 11 at Kolkata Centre for Creativity.
The exhibition was inaugurated Ruby Pal Choudhuri, Advisor and President Emeritus, Crafts Council of West Bengal and Reena Dewan, AVP Kolkata Centre for Creativity.
The exhibition will be travelling to different parts of India to create awareness and interest in the art and the forthcoming events amongst aficionados and young minds.
A specially curated collection of exquisite vintage quilts on show will be for sale from 6 December to 8 December, 2019 along with artisans. This exhibit will showcase the rich quilting traditions of Bhuj (Gujarat) and Barmer (Rajasthan).
The exhibition offers a feast of colours, quilting techniques and designs that beckon you to behold the beauty of times gone by and take home a cherished possession.
The artisans showcase will entail live work of these quilters, where one can sit beside them to watch & learn from them work magic with their adept fingers and also extend support by buying directly from them.
