Kolhi first batman to score 20,000 runs in a decade

Port Of Spain, Aug 15 (UNI) After scoring his 43rd One-day International hundred against the West Indies in the decider of the three-match ODI series in Port of Spain on Wednesday, Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the first and only batsman to have scored 20,000 international runs in a decade
Kohli's accomplishment takes him ahead of former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting, who held the record for the most international runs scored in a decade with 18962 runs in 2000s.
Former South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis is on the third position with 16,777 runs in the 2000s while Former Sri Lankan players Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara are on the 4th and 5th position with 16,304 and 15,999 runs respectively.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is on the sixth position with 15,962 runs in the 2000s.
Meanwhile, with his 43rd century, he moved closer Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI hundreds. Kohli now needs seven more ODI centuries to surpass the batting legend.
On Wednesday, Captain Virat Kohli's 43rd ODI century (114* off 99 ) helped India to clinch the three match series 2-0 by defeating Caribbean by 6 wickets in the rain-affected match.
Chasing a DLS target of 255 runs in 35 overs, India lost Rohit Sharma (10 runs) early.
After Rohit dismissal, Virat joined Shikhar Dhawan (36) and shared a 66 run partnership for the second wicket.
Rishabh Pant failed with the bat once again as he went for a golden duck.
From there on, Virat Kohli dominated the Windies bowlers and scored his 43rd ODI hundred off 99 balls with 14 fours.
Kohli was well supported from Shreyas Iyer who continued his good form and played a superb innings of 65 off 41 balls in a 120-run third-wicket partnership.
Eventually, India chased down the target comfortably to clinch ODI series 2-0 with 15 balls to spare.
