Kolhapur man gets life term in murder case

Kolhapur, Feb 27 (UNI) A 45-year-old man here on Thursday was awarded life term in the 2016 murder of the victim during a heated argument.
The convict have been identified as Babaso Bapu Jadhav, a resident of Pishavi village in Shahuwadi tehsil of this district.
In the submission before the Court, Public Prosecutor S S Ingale stated that there were frequent quarrels between families of the accused and victim over the use of public tap.
On October 10 of 2016, Babaso had a duel with Yashwant and subsequently attacked him with sharp object.
A gravely injured Yashwant succumbed to his injuries while on his way to hospital.
Based on several testimonies, Additional Sessions Judge V V Joshi awarded Babaso life term under the IPC section 302, three years rigorous imprisonment under the section 304 and three months jail and fine Rs 5,000 fine under the section 336.
