Kolhapur becomes 1st city in Maharashtra to be free of open defecation

Kolhapur, Feb 3 (UNI) Kolhapur has become the first city in Maharashtra to be free of open defecation.
The state government has selected the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) for the 'Hagandari Mukta' award under 'Clean Maharashtra' campaign.
A release issued by KMC here today said that the state government has sent an official letter to this effect.
