Kohli will soon score a big hundred for his team: Sehwag

Kohli will soon score a big hundred for his team: Sehwag

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Former India opener Virender Sehwag believes Virat Kohli, who accumulated only 180 runs in the five ODIs against Australia, will score big in the upcoming home series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. In a rare instance, Kohli didn't smashed a century in the just concluded series against the Steve Smith-led side. The Indian run-machine fell eight run short of a ton in Kolkata ODI as he was dismissed for 92. In a discussion with India TV, Sehwag said,"We all should look forward to the upcoming series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka where we can expect Virat to score big runs again for India. He is a champion player and knowing his capabilities, he’ll soon score a big hundred for his team." "I personally think Virat’s intensity has increased after becoming captain of India. While commentating, we have seen the stats of Virat which speaks in itself about his calibre, his numbers have been phenomenal after taking over the role of the Indian team’s skipper," added Sehwag. "Earlier, Virat has shown no urgency to play towards third-man, in this series he has tried such shots which have not been his strengths in the past. He should have converted his 92 at Edens into a big score as he was set at that time and playing brilliantly,” said Sehwag. UNI KU SW 1743
