Nagpur, Nov 26 (UNI) Indian skipper Virat Kohli added another milestone in his career after he scored another hundred his fourth this year here on third day of the second Test and his 10th across formats this year surpassing Australia's Ricky Ponting's 9 making him the most prolific captain in terms of scoring hundreds in a calendar year.
Kohli went past Ricky Ponting, who made nine in both 2005 and 2006, and Graeme Smith, in 2005.
Kohli's century here is his 12th as Test captain, which makes him the leading centurion among Indian captains.
Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar had 11 from 47 Tests as captain, but Kohli has already gone past that number in his 31st Test as captain. In ODIs, he is only one behind Sourav Ganguly's record of 11.
Kohli's amazing rate of scoring hundreds is also because of his amazing conversion rate. Of the 16 times he has gone past 50 as a captain, he has converted 12 into hundreds, which is easily the best rate among the 18 captains who scored 10 or more Test hundreds.
Even great Don Bradman couldn't achieve this rate he scored 14 hundreds out of the 21 times he passed 50.
