Kolkata, Nov 22 (UNI) Run-machine Virat Kohli on Friday added another milestone in his career scoring quickest to reach 5000 runs as captain, achieving the feat from 86 innings against Bangladesh on day one of Day-Night Test here at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
Earlier, Kohli as skipper had also record to reach fastest 4000 runs in Test from 65 innings. The Indian skipper is now the sixth to complete 5000 run.
Earlier, record holders were Australia's Ricky Ponting who took 97 innings to reach 5000 runs, West Indies great Clive Lloyd (106 innings), South African Graeme Smith (110), Australian Allan Border (116) and New Zealand's Stephen Fleming (130).
