Entertainment » OtherPosted at: May 30 2016 12:33AM Kohima district launches Swachh Bharat MissionKohima May 29 (UNI) As part of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board activities 2016-2017, the adoption committee of high school area under 10th Northern Angami-I Assembly Constituency kicked started its activities with ‘Swachh Bharat’ social work at High School junction yesterday. According to a release today the Convener of the Adoption Committee, SDO (S) Kohima, Kethosituo Sekhose said that the mass social work was conducted under the Swachh Bharat Mission for cleaner environment of the ward. He informed that with the logistic and monetary support of the Advisor of the Adoption Committee, Parliamentary for Youth Resources & Sports and MTF, Khriehu Liezietsu, the committee has been able to execute its activities. He said that for the social work, the committee has been assisted by Land Resources department for contributing tree sapling to be planted to commemorate ‘World Environment Day’, KMC for its machineries and manpower in disposing of waste. The Convener further invited the ward to come forward with their problems and requirement as the aim is to assist in whatever way the committee can within its capacity and reach. He also informed that as follow up activity, the committee in collaboration with the National Corporation Union of India and Agriculture Technology Management Agency is organizing an income generation programme for women livelihood options on detergent washing powder and dish wash gel and also juice and pickle making on May 31.
