Kobelco Construction Equipment inaugurates additional production unit in Sri City

Sri City (Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh), Dec 12 (UNI) Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI) Private Limited, the Indian arm of the Japanese Kobelco Group, has inaugurated its additional production unit here on Thursday.
As part of a phased consolidation of its manufacturing facility, has gone for the fifth consecutive expansion of the plant.
Addressing after inaugurating the additional production unit in the presence of KCEI Managing Director and CEO Koji Nakagawa, Kobelco Construction Machinery Global Chairman Kazuhide Naraki, said, with the manufacturing capacity almost hitting its upper limit, we have gone for this expansion, and now onwards the plant would have an annual production capacity of 3600 units per annum.
''With this expansion, we are sure to meet the domestic requirement and as well as the exports'', Kazuhide informed.
Nakagawa said in August the unit produced the 10,000th hydraulic excavator and he thanked the Sri City and the government of Andhra Pradesh for extending all support
Complementing the KCEI team for expanding their production unit, Sri City Founder Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said, it is the very first Japanese company to step in Sri City and it is the first OEM and it is the first company that has gone for fifth expansion. With its expansion, I am confident, KCEI would capture a larger market share.
KCEI manufactures Hydraulic Excavators and Crawler Cranes of different Models and Capacities. It invested about Rs. 100 Crore for commissioning the new plant and it took 12 months time to complete the expansion works. The plant will create direct job opportunity for 50 more people and indirect jobs for more people.
Director (Operations) Yoshio Nishida and Vice-President (Factory Operations) Deepak Kacker were also present on the occasion.
