Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu Aug 29 (UNI) In a major boost to India’s Civil nuclear programme, the Second Unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) was synchronised with the Southern Grid, today. “The turbine of the 1,000 Mega Watts Electricity (MWe) was successfully synchronised with the Southern Grid exactly at 11.17 AM,” R.S.Sundar, Site Director, KKNPP told newsmen after monitoring the synchronisation of the turbine from the control room at the KKNPP complex. This is the second nuclear reactor capable of generating 1,000 MWs of electricity in the country. MORE UNI GSM CS 1248
