KIYG 2019: Punjab's Ekta Saroj wins gold, Poonam settles for silver in Boxing

Chandigarh, Jan 18 (UNI) Punjab pugilists Ekta Saroj and Poonam bagged gold and silver in their respective weight categories of Boxing in the ongoing Khelo India Youth Games in Pune on Friday.
Stating this, Sports Director and the Chef De Mission of the Punjab contingent Amrit Kaur Gill said that in the 48 kg weight category of U-17 age group in Boxing, Ekta Saroj won gold while in the 54 kg category, Poonam bagged silver.
In the Basketball Under-17 Boys as well as Girls and Under-21 Girls events, the teams from Punjab entered the finals, she added.
