Kisan Rail to help farmers get proper market, price for their produce: Tomar

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar on Friday said that Kisan Rail will help transport the produce of farmers to different parts of the country at a nominal cost, thus the farmer will benefit, this will help in achieving the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doubling farmers’ incomes by 2022.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had made an announcement in the Union Budget 2020-21 to build a seamless national cold supply chain for perishables, inclusive of milk, meat and fish and it was also stated that the Indian Railways will set up a Kisan Rail through PPP arrangements.
Mr Tomar flagged off the inaugural run of ‘Devlali-Danapur Kisan Rail’ on Friday through Video Conference in the presence of Union Minister of Railways, Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal who presided over the function.

NCRTC launches campaign to encourage voting for LS polls

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) In a bid to encourage passengers to exercise their democratic right to vote in the parliamentary elections, National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday launched a campaign for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, scheduled to be held on April 26.
